JOB TITLE: Program Officer (Sexual Health and Well-being)
LOCATION: Lagos, Nigeria (on-site)
REPORTING TO: Operations Officer
Intersex Nigeria invites interested and motivated applicants to apply for the post of Programs Officer (Sexual
Health and Well-being).

The Programs officer will oversee program development, seek grants and proposals, manage, and execute
projects. And generally, ensure that the organization’s activities and programs align with the goals and
mission statements of Intersex Nigeria.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
(Additional duties may be assigned)
• Building and maintaining partnerships and relationships with other CBOs, federal agencies,
stakeholders, and allies to foster, develop and support the intersex community in Nigeria.
• Designing, implementing, and supporting sexual health and wellbeing programs targeting intersex
• Designing, delivering, evaluating, and monitoring training for professionals on health issues affecting
intersex people.
• Designing, delivering, evaluating, and monitoring a range of health and wellbeing initiatives for
intersex people including, education sessions, one-to-one support, social and peer support, and
• Working with the programs and finance team in the implementation of program activities.
• Identifying and utilizing the linkages between sexual health, human rights, and well-being.
• Planning and/or participating in workshops, forums, and discussions to highlight emerging issues
at the community level.
• Promoting the health and well-being services of intersex persons to relevant stakeholders and
ensuring broader support services that enable appropriate interventions for intersex people.
• Developing new and innovative sexual health services based on identified needs and emerging
• Performing other duties that direct supervisors might assign.
• A degree in public health or social science or relevant discipline.
• Good understanding of the intersex community in Nigeria.
• At least 2 years prior work experience in public health, FGM/IGM, or a similar field. Work experience
in an NGO would be an advantage.
• Demonstrated project management experience including budget development, event planning,
and coordinating multiple partners and stakeholders.
• Excellent writing skills with proven ability in interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to deliver tasks with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, equality, and social inclusion.
• Understanding of issues affecting members of the intersex community, including SOGIESC
• Personal qualities of humility, capacity for self-reflection, and a sense of humor are a plus.
• Availability to travel within and outside Nigeria.

The salary for this role ranges from ₦150,000 – ₦200,000 monthly. This is a contract position. We are
looking for excellent applicants.
